Meet our Gym Staff
Sharon Rashidi, Owner/Fitness Director
Sharon is a graduate of California State University Northridge and has a Bachelor of Science degree in Health Education. She is a nationally certified fitness leader, certified through International Fitness Trainers of America. Sharon also is a Nationally Certified Personal Trainer.
Sharon has been a dedicated health professional for more than 24 years and has been a professional fitness leader for the past 19 years. In addition, she is certified to teach Turbo Kick®, Zumba® Fitness, Pilates, Resist-A-Ball C.O.R.E, Medicine Ball, Step, Boot-Camp, High-Low Cardio Training, Yoga, Tabata, Kettle-Bell, R.I.P.P.E.D®, and Drums Alive! ®.

Dakotah Ledford- General Manager/Personal Trainer
Dakotah is a graduate of Biotechnology from ASU and has a background in Law Enforcement. He has a passion for fitness and has 10 years of private fitness training experience in North Carolina. Dakotah believes that a happy life is about a healthy balance between the physical and mental aspects of one’s self.
Ronnie Brown – Front Desk/Trainer
Ronnie is a black belt with 20 years experience in American Freestyle Karate and 3 years experience teaching self defense. Ronnie has lost 90 pounds and is an excellent role model.
Debbie Gautreau – Front Desk/Child Watch
Debbie is a loving caregiver dedicated to her husband, Thomas, and their three children. She has 20 plus years experience in Childcare Development and loves working with those that enjoy being fit and healthy. Her hobbies include cooking, eating healthy, and relaxing at the beach.
Jordan Webb – Front Desk
Jordan has a passion for the gym atmosphere. He enjoys assisting others in bettering themselves in their workout routines. Jordan has worked in furniture since 2016 and is always positive and happy. Jordan is ready to motivate you to have fun and energy. Jordan is married to Bethany and they have 5 fur babies, consisting of 3 cats and 2 ferrets!
Rashad Turner – Front Desk
Rashad is a recent graduate of Bandys High School. He is a hard worker who has been involved in the fitness environment since a young age. Rashad’s hobbies inlcude playing basketball, softball, and anything involving cars.
Caitlyn Gautreau – Front Desk/Child Watch
Caitlyn is a loved daughter, sister, and friend. She says: “I love seeing the children come to the childwatch with big smiles, ready to play and make friends. My face is always sore at the end of the day from laughing along with them!” She truly enjoys working in an environment that promotes fitness and a healthy lifestyle.
Megan Gautreau – Childwatch
Megan loves animals, kids, and working out! She enjoys playing around with the kids and seeing how happy they get when they’re awarded their good behavior stars. Megan loves spending time with her family, cooking with her mom and dad, and spending time at the beach!
Michele Kirkland – Childwatch
Michele is a mother of two, a substitute teacher, and a Girl Scout leader. Her husband and children have lived on a small farm in Catawba for 13 years. She enjoys reading, kayaking, camping, and spending time with her many pets!
Class Instructors
Becky Dellinger – Fitness Instructor
Becky is both a nationally certified group exercise instructor and a personal trainer. She has been certified for group fitness exercise for the past 18 years through NDEITA. She is married and has one daughter. Becky’s favorite quote: Exercise- “you don’t have time not to.”
Amy Campbell – Yoga instructor
Amy has taken yoga classes since 1984 and started teaching in 1996 in Hickory. She has a YogaFit certification and many hours of training, particularly in the Anusara (Moving into Grace) approach to yoga practice developed by John Friend.
Amy emphasizes careful attention to alignment and breath and the use of props in asanas to insure safety and to make postures accessible to all students.
Maria Yolanda Robles – Zumba Gold Instructor
Maria has been with us since 2010, first as a member, then as a Zumba Gold instructor. Although she can teach many other types of Zumba, she enjoys teaching Zumba Gold the most. Her goal is to teach people with different needs; physical or emotional.
Maria was part of different Amateur Folkloric Dance Companies for 20 years. She’s been working with Catawba County School system for about 10 years. She is a bilingual specialist, has her Bachelors of Science degree in Education from Mexico, and her N. C. Teaching License for k-12 Spanish and K-12 ESL. She is proud of her two daughters and her first granddaughter.
Dancing is part of her life and promotes others to lift their souls as well their bodies, as she always says: “Life shouldn’t be too serious, so let it go, let it God, and dance.”
Katie Gaither – Yoga Instructor
Katie is a recent college graduate who is dedicated to health and fitness. When she isn’t teaching special education classes at Hickory High School she finds time to practice and teach yoga. Katie received her certification from Asheville Community Yoga. She is an advocate for all types of exercises and teaches her style of warm/hot vinyasa flow yoga.

Michelle Williams – Group Exercise
Michelle has been AFAA certified since 1995 and began teaching group exercise that same year. Michelle has taught at the YMCA, local churches and a couple of civic groups. She is happily married and mother of three grown independent children. Michelle earned her Bachelor of Science in Computer Science at Lenoir-Rhyne College and is employed for Catawba County in Information Technology. Her passion is motivating people to work out or just move. She believes that mobility allows people to remain independent.
Michelle Deese – Yoga Instructor
Michelle has been practicing yoga for some 20+ years. She has been teaching yoga basics in a gentle and accessible way for more than 10 years. Her yoga training has primarily been in Iyengar and Anusara forms of Hatha Yoga. Her classes consist of an eclectic mix of her various trainings; and are suitable for beginners or those returning to the basics. She offers posture variations to suit your practice.
Tammy Lawing – Fitness Instructor
Tammy has taught group exercise classes for the last 12 years. Fitness and living a healthy lifestyle is her passion. Tammy enjoys the many rewards that an active lifestyle offers. Through teaching my fitness class and serving as Wellness Director for 10 years I have been fortunate enough to help other achieve their fitness and weight loss goals and I have met some of my best friends. I am a certified personal trainer and have a YMCA and AFAA group exercise certification, in addition to being certified to teach Zumba, RPM, CXWorks, Bodypump, Bodyflow, and Jilian Michaels BodyShred.
Tammy has been married for 19 years and has an 18 year old son. She works full time at Piedmont Cardiology as a clinic nurse.
Kim Wilson – Spin Instructor
Kim is a mother of 2 teenaged girls, a hairstylist, and is dedicated to fitness. She started her health journey 3 years ago and is dedicated to the gym 5 days a week. Kim thinks it is important not only to help yourself become healthier but others who struggle with their own journey. Teaching spin gives Kim the opportunity to help others gain that confidence in getting back into shape!
Bri Spalino – Yoga Instructor
Bri has been practicing yoga for about 10 years and received her certification in Costa Rica in October of 2017. She is also certified in children’s yoga and loves to teach senior and chair yoga. Bri has a bachelor’s degree in zoology and loves all animals, especially her dog, Chip!
Theresa Mitchell – Fitness Instructor
Hi! My name is Theresa Mitchell and I have over 20 years of experience in the health and fitness industry. I am certified as an AFAA Group Exercise Instructor and I design my classes to incorporate strength, cardio, flexibility, and balance in all planes of motion to ensure my participants get a well rounded work out. I also have over 20 years of experience in treating clients in need of rehabilitation in order to live independently! Working in these settings has helped develop my philosophy to not only exercise for today’s wellness, but also to ensure my clients are using safe and effective movements to keep them moving as long as possible!
